555 timer

You can use the 555 timer part as a one-shot timer (monostable) or as an oscillator (astable):

• In a one-shot timer, a trigger pulse causes the output to change state for a set time before returning back to its original state.
• An oscillator produces a continuous stream of pulses.

Part parameters:

• Supply voltage: 4.5 V to 16 V
• Maximum output low voltage: 2.5 V (Conditions: Supply voltage=15 V, Output low current=200 mA)
• Minimum output high voltage: 12.5 V (Conditions: Supply voltage=15 V, Output high current=200 mA)
• Power supply current: 10 mA (Condition: Supply voltage=15 V)
• Maximum power dissipation: 600 mW
